Michel Cohen is CEO and shareholder of TRESAL, leading the company for over three decades. Under his leadership, TRESAL has established itself as one of Mexico’s premier bulk chemical transport companies, operating a fleet of 100+ stainless steel tank trucks (SS 304 and SS 316L) from two operational bases with own washing facilities in Cuautitlán Izcalli and San Luis Potosí.
With 38+ years of experience in chemical logistics, Michel has driven key initiatives including ISO 9001:2015 certification, SICT Training Center accreditation (SCT.CC/000096), and Kosher certification under Vaad Hakashrut KA supervision.
Expertise
His expertise spans the full chemical transport value chain: stainless steel fleet management, regulatory compliance (15+ applicable NOMs), interior washing operations (chemical, food-grade, and Kosher), driver training for Federal License Category E, and 24/7 satellite monitoring. TRESAL regularly transports 60+ chemical products across Class 3 (flammable liquids), Class 8 (corrosive substances), and food-grade categories.
Education
Graduate of École des Roches (France, Bac B, 1971–1980) and Boston University, Questrom School of Business (BS Business Administration, 1981–1985). He holds an MBA from the MEDEX program at IPADE Business School (1994–1996). Fluent in Spanish, English, and French.

In the 1990s, as Corporate Director of Industrias Monfel — with executive responsibility over R&D, Sales, and the pharmaceutical division — Michel led the team behind two U.S. patents granted in 1998: U.S. Patent 5,840,962 (esters synthesis via ketene — Michel Cohen co-inventor with Mikhail Khramov) and U.S. Patent 5,777,157 (triacetin purification — Mikhail Khramov, assigned to Industrias Monfel).
